The New Jersey Health Officers Association is a private non-profit association of public health and allied health professionals.
The objectives of our organization include:
1. The advancement of knowledge relating to public health, sanitary and environmental sciences. 2. Consideration of public health problems and improvement in public health administration in New Jersey. 3. Promotion of uniformity in public health procedures and in laws and ordinances relating to public health. 4. Encouragement of personal and group contacts between allied Health professions and agencies in New Jersey. 5. The protection of the rights of health officers and other public health personnel. 6. To operate as a not for profit.

Membership Catagories Membership classes include:
1. Active members i. The individual must hold a license as Health Officer issued by the State of New Jersey as provided in N.J.S.A Title 26, and; ii. The individual must be a full time employee of an official government public health agency in New Jersey or retired in good standing and maintaining a complete continuing education Health Officers license as issued by the State of New Jersey.
Active members shall be eligible to hold office and be entitled to vote on all Association business.
2. Affiliate members i. Individuals who are not eligible for Active membership.
Affiliate members shall have the same rights and privileges as Active members except, the right to hold office and to vote.
3. Corporate members Any corporation or business in the State of New Jersey that espouses the principals and beliefs of the New Jersey Health Officers Association and its members may apply for corporate membership.
Corporate members shall have the same rights and privileges as Active members, except, the right to hold office and to vote.
4. Honorary members i. Active member who has retired from employment with an official governmental public health agency in New Jersey and who has held membership in the Association for not less than ten(10) years and who is in good standing at the time of retirement. ii. Affiliate member who has retired and has held membership in the Association for not less than ten(10) years and who is in good standing at the time of retirement.
Honorary members shall have the same rights and privileges as Active members except, the right to hold office and to vote.
Upon approval of the Executive Committee, the State Commissioners of Health, and Environmental Protection, or their designees, may be designated as Honorary members in the Association.
